Description
This is an oil painting of a beach scene at Camp Del Corazon. This camp for children with heart conditions is just off the coast of southern California. It is painted at midday on a summer afternoon. In the foreground is the beach sand with shadows of tufts of grass in the hot sand. The red, blue and yellow kayaks are all leaning against a wooden rail in the middle of the sandy beach. Just past the kayaks is a wooden rack full of blue and yellow kayak paddles. And to the left closer to the water is a white life guard chair with a yellow towel and a red cooler on the sand next to it. In the middle distance is the pier leading out to the ramp going down to the float on the water. On the float are some red floats, bumpers and a gas can. Behind the pier is docking for boats of all kinds. You can see the mast of sail boats and the hull of a large sail boat moored out in the deeper water. A large steep hill comes out t of the distant shore and it is covered with thick vegetation and large rocks and boulders. The cloudless sky is of cerulean blue and is reflected in the calm ocean water. My daughter and her husband volunteer at this camp for a week in the summer. This painting was done to be auctioned off for the Nick and Kelly heart fund. All proceeds of this paintings prints will be given to the camp and the Nick and Kelly heart fund. The original is not for sale. This painting is copy written.

What a lovely painting of this calm summer camp. The fact that you donated the painting to benefit others makes it all the more beautiful.

Very nicely done, Lee. The dock sucked me into this. Composition is a gem. Lovely as ever. FAV
