Description
Chickens in a barnyard looking for breakfast with an old tractor, bales of hay and a barrel of cider in the background. Shade trees are casting shadows on the barn and barn door. Barn yards have always been a favorite place of mine. This scene is of three Rhode Island Reds In the spotlight of the morning suns rays. The maple trees leaves are casting shadows on the side of the red barn and its open door. The inside of the barns in the background is dark but inviting. You can see hay bales stacked up against the back wall. A dirt floor. An old tractor seemingly watching over the chickens while they eat some grain scattered on the ground for their breakfast. A brown wooden barrel peeks around the corner of the open doorway. One of the things that I wish I could convey with my paintings like this is the wonderful smells of the barn... the hay, oil, earth, horses and cows. To me this is a wonderful place. This oil painting is protected by copyright.
