Description
An old barn on a hilltop with shade trees and a sunlit lawn with an over grown path. The fence in the foreground is leading the eye up the hill to the barn. The flowers in the foreground indicate a lush landscape. The trees are starting to change color so it could be late summer or early fall. The weathered barn has seen better days but its age has added to its character. Its not hard to imagine owls and other critters making a home in this old building. Even in the winter this could be a cozy place to live. There's plenty of shade not a lot of people and its guite. This is an old farm scene that is slowly becoming a thing of the past. Weathered wood, leaking roof, old paint, no paint, and crumbling foundation all contribute to the painting and the scene.

Your painting technique is a lot like my Great Uncle El's! I always loved it and has a world of nostalgia, wrapped in the strokes. I'm especially drawn to this one! LOVE IT! :-) l/f
