Description
This oil painting is of a calm shoreline in Maine. It is very rocky and thick with pine trees. In the foreground are large rocks with flowers growing in the cracks in between. The shoreline curves around to the right while the open ocean is to the left. There are rocks sticking up out of the shallow water in the middle foreground. In the near distance is a peninsula of large rocks coming out from the pine forest. Beyond the peninsula is a lot of open water and a far distant shore of blue hills. The sky was on my mind in this painting. The clouds are dark and fierce over head and open up towards the horizon with yellow sunlight behind them and down to the horizon. The sound of the waves on the rocks is unforgettable. This painting is copyrighted.

I am nostalgic over this beauty...I enjoyed many lazy trips up the coastline in my youth, favoring the rocky coast the further north we travelled. In the day, there were the BEST clam shacks following the coastline... but, the stark, virginal beauty of the Maine coast is forever etched in my heart as the thunderous crescendo of waves breaking against rocky coasts occasioned frequent stops...just for the sheer beauty of it! Thank you, Lee!
