Description
This painting was done very early in the morning in about two and a half hours on location. Deep in the woods at Bass Harbor Maine there is a road that goes to the lighthouse. If you walk down it in the morning light you will encounter fog. This painting is a rendering of that moment. The road is wet with dew and the trees are silhouetted against the yellow foggy morning light. The foreground trees, mostly pines, are dark in color and the trees in the distance are much lighter in color due to the fog working its way up the lane. Beyond the curve in the road the light house can be seen on a clear day, but not this morning, only the fog horn and the bell can be heard. The engines of the lobster boats and the cry of the gulls can be heard over the pine tree tops. Morning has come to Acadia! This painting is sold, only prints can be purchased. You captured the essence of Maine which brings back memories of my teen years when I vacationed there. Beautifull composition, light and shadow.

Beautiful painting! Puts me on this country road early in the morning. I can almost hear the birds chirping! Your gallery is amazing.
