Tall Ship On The South Sea
Artist
Lee Piper
Medium
Painting - O/c
Description
This painting depicts a warm summer day on the south seas with a large schooner making time in a strong breeze. The tall ship is at full sail and the rigging is tight. A white foam at the ships bow indicates the ship is making good time sliding through the calm ocean water. The foreground is filled with cresting waves of deep blue and white, The boat is clearing many fathoms and is far out to sea. Off in the distance on the horizon a faint sail of a companion ship can be seen. The cerulean blue sky is punctuated with warm unthreatening clouds. The boat is a dark wooden hull with sun drenched sails billowing out and over shadowing each other. Its going to be a good day on the high seas. This ships captain will make port on time. This painting is protected by copy right.

my husband would have loved this piece of art. Tall ships is what he built and tall ships were a part of our family history in Trieste, Italy. This is truly beautiful, Lee.
