Painting - Oil On Canvas
Description
The old Tawas Lighthouse in Tawas Michigan on Lake Huron. The oil painting is pictured from a sandy back water and lots of trees, bushes and grass in the foreground. The vegetation is green, burnt umber, burnt sienna, yellow ocher, red and yellow covering almost half way up the canvas. From behind the vegetation the top half of the red brick lighthouse can be seen with its bright red roof. The house is trimmed in white and the relatively high tower is also white. A single window can be seen half way up the tower. The morning sun light is casting shadows on the left side of the tower and the house. Behind in the background is a bright light blue sky with distant thunder clouds. A summer storm is about to begin. The land around here is low and sandy and lighthouse towers have to be high so they can be seen from the Lake Huron ships. Tawas is a unforgettable place. This painting is copyright protected.
