Description
A produce stand with horse drawn wagon with apples. This painting in oil is of harvest time and the smell of apples and cider is in the air. The produce stand is partly in the shade and you can see cider jugs, baskets of apples and a large red barrel out in front of the stand. A horse pulling a wagon of baskets of apples is being off loaded. A large oak tree is in the foreground framing the right side of the scene. In the middle distance the road winds past a large red barn with its doors open exposing a dark interior where the horse and wagon will no doubt end up at the end of the day's work. The dirt road winds past the barn and through the hilly country side off into a far distant woods. The scene is finished off with a late summer sky and afternoon sunlight. Americana folk art scenes like this take me back to more innocent times, that is why I like to paint them. Protected by copyright.

One of the things I love about your gallery is that you combine dramatic, stormy seas with serene, bucolic settings. Such a delight it is to be in your gallery.

Lee, I just love your art!!! Everything about this painting is so good! The way the little road leads your eye up into the field....the red of the barn echoed in the apples, the barrel and the produce stand. This just makes me smile my friend!!! L/F

Absolutely delightful, Lee. I wish I could paint like you do! I particularly like the cowboy the horse and the bull (or maybe it was the old cow) , at the outhouse. My sister and I were my Dad's cowboys, as children and we rounded up the cattle at the foothill ranches. The little cabin still had the outhouse in the California foothills. That was a long time ago... V/F

Wonderful piece Lee. I love the curve of the lane offset by the bright colors! Well done!
