A calm day on the South Seas is the setting for this painting of an historic voyage. Before the arrival of Europeans, the people of the South Pacific lead a Utopian lifestyle. Once unexplored and wild tribes were suddenly exposed to new ways of thinking. Religion, weapons and diseases opened the Pandora's box. The old ways would never again come back to these people of ancient times.

I have been an oil painter my entire life. Many of the paintings that I do are sentimental rural settings. I also like to paint landmarks and paintings that tell a story like "Surprise Visit". My paintings have won first place in a lot of competitions and many times have been sold that way. To me there is no more satisfying experience than to complete a painting and be happy with the outcome. The next best thing is to have someone buy it!
