Farm life in Michigan is where every front, side and back yard has a variety of these bushes. Cat birds and cardinals are among the birds who like to nest in these thick hedge rows.
I have been an oil painter my entire life. Many of the paintings that I do are sentimental rural settings. I also like to paint landmarks and paintings that tell a story like "Surprise Visit". How beautiful! There was a white lilac tree in the garden of one of my childhood homes and another in the garden of one of our early homes, when we were married. Unfortunately when we moved, we had to leave the tree behind. Believe me, I still miss them!
