It's a clear summer day on the Atlantic Ocean and the sailing ship is making its way to the eastern shore of the new world. New Bedford is only and hour away. A month at sea is hard on the passengers and crew and landfall is a welcome thought in the minds of all aboard. Many a passenger will never again get on a boat to cross the ocean but this adventure will be forever in the minds of the people lucky enough to have been part of this historic event.New lives will begin and old world relationships will soon be distant memories.

I have been an oil painter my entire life. Many of the paintings that I do are sentimental rural settings. I also like to paint landmarks and paintings that tell a story like "Surprise Visit". My paintings have won first place in a lot of competitions and many times have been sold that way. To me there is no more satisfying experience than to complete a painting and be happy with the outcome. The next best thing is to have someone buy it!
