Description
Somewhere out west its raining! (This scene was painted near Holbrook Arizona.) All though its a long way off, its raining over a distant butte. As the viewer walks up a pathway to the top of a hill in the desert a rain storm unfolds off on the far horizon. Many miles away a bluff rises up from the desert floor and turns into a high plateau. Directly over the high ground is a large thunder storm. Dark at the very bottom its goes thousands of feet into the sky reflecting the afternoon sun. The foreground is painted in dark colors to indicate the shadow of clouds over the viewer. Beyond that the next thing to be seen is the distant plateau painted in a pale blue. A thin strip of daylight can be seen between the cloud and the horizon. The vast distances and the dramatic weather are part of the American west. This painting is protected by copyright.
