To walk down a path like this in the fall is an experience like no other. This farm lane in Hillsdale Michigan. The smell of the woods and the fresh cut hay, and the cool shadows cast by the changing autumn leaves. An open pasture might be at the end of this lane. Cows might be coming back for milking time soon. Hickory nuts, acorns and wall nuts, are plentiful. Birds are getting ready for their flight south. Soon snow will cover the forest floor and the fall colors will be past.

I have been an oil painter my entire life. Many of the paintings that I do are sentimental rural settings. I also like to paint landmarks and paintings that tell a story like "Surprise Visit". My paintings have won first place in a lot of competitions and many times have been sold that way. To me there is no more satisfying experience than to complete a painting and be happy with the outcome. The next best thing is to have someone buy it!
